Frist Day of Practice Announcements
First day off practice is on Monday! We have 134 kids registered and I am shutting down registration! I have a few reminders listed below. Practice times can be found here.
Our youngest swimmers are going to function a little differently this year. There is some new legislation regarding swim lessons and we are still attempting to discern how it applies to us. The guidelines are helpful though and we will be adhering to them for the smallest ones. What that means for you is that we will ask you to stay in the pool area AND keep an eye on your child(ren) in the water. I understand this is really difficult with some of you having younger kids. We'll work this out and figure out how it actually works at our pool and for our team, but for now SAFETY FIRST!
Mark up your kids! Please use a sharpie to write your child's first name and age on their Right shoulder. Make sure you put on sunscreen before the sharpie, as sunscreen will take off the marker. Please do this for the first week of practice so we can all learn names.
Augusta Swim Supply will be onsite on Tuesday with our team suits for those that still need them, plus goggles, caps and other supplies.
Swim Team 101 and Shepherding: We will have a brief talk at 4pm and 5 pm on Wednesday to bring everybody up to speed on what to expect this season. There's a power point linked here that is helpful to review. I know some of you have lots of experience and some of you are brand new. So if you are new, show up to learn. If you have experience, come share with us!
Meets: Please make sure to sign your kids up for each meet. If you do not sign up, we will assume that your child is not participating. You are able to sign up for meets on the Calendar and Sign ups page linked here.
Time Trials: Those already registered will notice a additional meet on the schedule. We will have Time Trials on Thursday May 23rd from 4-6 pm. We'll start at 4 with warmups, and it will run just like a regular meet. We will go through events in order, but without relays. Please sign up for a volunteer role for that day here. If you are new to swim team, or are serving in a new job this year, this is a great opportunity to practice before meets start.
App: Please make sure to download the Swimtopia app from your app store. You can use the free version or purchase the paid version. The paid features are only really needed for meets, so feel free to wait until the first meet to buy that so you only have to pay for 1 month!
Pool Membership: If you haven't joined the pool yet, please remember that you must be a pool member to be on the swim team. Staff will be on hand to collect checks/cash in person. All other memberships need to go through the payment portal which is linked here.
Any questions, make sure you check our website first! There is lots of information posted there.
See you Monday to start off a great season!
